Mudguard "failures" usually refer to loosening and detachment, fracture and damage, or aging and becoming brittle. Local fracture/deformation: Hard plastic can be repaired with a plastic welding gun; rubber parts can be tried to be fixed by bonding; if the structural strength is damaged, it is recommended to replace directly.
Large-area rupture/complete detachment/clip seat damage: Must be replaced. Self-installation requires checking the model compatibility and tightening the screws, or handling at a repair shop/4S store.
Only loose but not broken: Check the screws/clips, clean the rust, and re-tighten.
Common failure causes
Installation problems: Screws not tightened, missing clips or installation position deviation, detachment due to vehicle vibration.
Material aging: Long-term exposure to the sun or low temperatures causes rubber/plastic to become brittle, and is prone to cracking and breaking when hit by stones.
External force impact: Passing through potholes, scraping obstacles or being damaged by human factors.
Quality defects: Uneven material of original or auxiliary factory parts, unreasonable design of clips leading to early failure.
Criteria for determining whether to replace
It is recommended to replace: Mud splashing directly onto the car paint/chassis/brake system; Broken part dragging on the ground causing abnormal noise or damaging the vehicle; Affecting driving visibility or causing significant wind noise/fuel consumption increase.
Can be temporarily not dealt with: Minor cracks that do not affect structural integrity and have no splash risk (need to regularly check to prevent expansion); For those who commute in the city and have good road conditions, it can be observed.
Note: The mudguard is not a core safety component. Missing will not cause the vehicle to be unable to drive, but long-term missing will accelerate chassis rusting and paint peeling.

If there is a drip oil phenomenon under the mudguard, it is usually not a fault of the mudguard itself, but caused by engine or chassis oil contamination, and needs to check the sealing gasket or oil circuit problems.
