Structural rigidity enhancement: It forms a "frame-like" or "T-shaped" chassis skeleton with the rear longitudinal beam, significantly improving the vehicle's torsional stiffness, reducing body deformation during driving, and enhancing handling stability and NVH performance.

Suspension support reference: As a key installation point for the rear subframe or rear suspension (such as multi-link or torsion beam), it directly bears and positions the rear wheel suspension components, ensuring stable wheel spacing and positioning parameters.

Collision energy management: In rear-end collisions, it cooperates with the rear bumper crossbeam and longitudinal beams to distribute the impact force to both sides, reducing the risk of rear cabin intrusion (some models have this crossbeam integrated with the bumper crossbeam or adjacent).
