Is fogging of car headlights normal? Why does the new car fog? How to deal with headlight fog quickly?

In the face of the recent nationwide rainfall, we should be more careful when driving, and comprehensively check the car's wiper, defrosting function, tires, lights, etc. At the same time, this is also the season when the headlights are easy to fog. Fogging of headlights is a headache for many car owners. There are many forms of headlamp fogging. Some of them are water vapor condensed in the headlamp shade, but only a thin layer will not form water droplets. This is a slight fogging, which is normal. If the fog in the headlamp assembly forms water droplets or even drops open flow, this is a serious fogging phenomenon, also known as headlamp water inflow. There may also be a design defect in the fog of the headlamp. Headlamp components usually have desiccant, such as Korean cars, without desiccant, or the desiccant fails and fogs. If the headlamp fogs seriously, it will form ponding, affect the lighting effect of the headlamp, accelerate the aging of the lampshade, burn the bulb in the headlamp, cause short circuit and even scrap the headlamp assembly. What should we do if the headlights are foggy?

Whether it is a general halogen headlamp, a common xenon headlamp or a high-end LED headlamp, there will be an exhaust rubber pipe on the rear cover. The headlamp will generate a lot of heat during lighting use. The main function of the ventilation pipe is to discharge these heat to the outside of the headlamp as soon as possible, so as to maintain the normal working temperature and working pressure of the headlamp. Ensure that the headlamp can be used normally and stably.

In rainy season, rainy day or winter, when the headlamp is turned off and the temperature in the lamp group decreases, water molecules in the air can easily enter the interior of the headlamp through the rubber vent. When the internal temperature of the headlamp is unbalanced and the internal and external temperature difference of the lampshade is too large, the water molecules in the humid air will gather from the high temperature to the low temperature. To increase the humidity of these parts, and then it will condense on the surface of the internal lampshade to form a thin water mist. Generally speaking, most of these water mist are concentrated in the lower half of the headlamp. There is no need to worry too much about this situation, which is due to the fog of car headlights caused by the difference of ambient temperature. When the lamp is turned on for a period of time, the fog will be discharged from the lamp together with hot air through the exhaust duct without damaging the headlamp and circuit.

There are also cases such as water mist caused by vehicle wading and car washing. If the vehicle wades, the engine and exhaust system itself are relatively large heat sources. Rain will form a lot of water vapor on it. Some water vapor enters the interior of the headlamp along the headlamp exhaust hole. Car washing is easier. Some car owners like to flush the engine compartment with a high-pressure water gun. After cleaning, the accumulated water in the engine compartment will not be treated in time. After the engine compartment cover is covered, the water vapor cannot escape to the outside of the car quickly. Moisture in the engine compartment may enter the interior of the headlight.
