Vacuum Return: When the engine coolant generates negative pressure, the vacuum valve opens, drawing the coolant from the auxiliary water tank back to the radiator to prevent the water tank from collapsing and to replenish the liquid level.
Key Principles and Warnings
The internal pressure is controlled by spring-operated pressure valves and vacuum valves: when heated, the valves release pressure and drain the coolant; when cooled, they draw in coolant for return, keeping the system at the optimal pressure state. It is strictly prohibited to forcefully open it when the engine is hot; the high-pressure and high-temperature coolant can instantly spray out, causing severe burns; the operation should be performed only after the vehicle has completely cooled down.
The "water cap" of a car usually refers to the glass water cap (wiper fluid) or the coolant auxiliary water tank cap. Remove the old cap：
Threaded type： Unscrew counterclockwise by hand； if there are remaining fragments， use a pointed pliers to carefully remove them to prevent them from falling into the tank.
Snap ring type： Gently pry the edge snap ring off (avoid violent damage to the tank opening).
Clean the interface of the tank： Use a clean cloth to wipe the interface to remove dust， scale， or rubber debris.
Install the new cap： Align the threads or snap ring position， turn clockwise or press to "click" in place to ensure the sealing ring is flat.

It must be operated at a cold engine： hot engine pressure can cause boiling coolant to spray and injure people.

Install the cap and start the engine in idle mode for a few minutes to check for leaks and discharge air.
