What does a car air conditioning module mean

The automotive air conditioning module is the core component responsible for controlling the temperature, humidity and air circulation inside the vehicle. It monitors environmental parameters in real time through sensors and automatically adjusts the working state of the air conditioning system to provide a comfortable driving and riding environment. ‌

The automotive air conditioning system is a device used to regulate the air environment inside the vehicle. It improves driving and riding comfort and reduces driver fatigue through functions such as cooling, heating, ventilation and purification. Its core is composed of a refrigeration system, a heating system, a ventilation device, an air purification module and a control system, which can precisely regulate temperature and humidity and achieve air circulation and filtration.
The refrigeration system achieves cooling and dehumidification by driving the refrigerant circulation through the compressor. The heating system provides warm air by utilizing the residual heat from the engine or the heating core. The ventilation system regulates air circulation. The control system integrates sensors and electronic components to achieve intelligent regulation. The system is classified into independent type (large and medium-sized buses) and non-independent type (sedans) according to the drive mode, and the control mode covers manual to fully automatic microcomputer control. The typical layout adopts an integrated design of evaporator, warm air radiator and blower to avoid occupying too much space inside the vehicle. The air purification module filters particulate matter and harmful gases through filter cores and requires regular maintenance to prevent the growth of odors and bacterial contamination.
According to the driving mode, they can be classified into: independent type (a dedicated engine drives the compressor, with a large cooling capacity, stable operation, but high cost, large volume and weight, mostly used in large and medium-sized buses) and non-independent type (the air conditioning compressor is driven by the car engine, the cooling performance is greatly affected by the engine operation, poor stability, mostly used in small buses and sedans).
According to the performance of air conditioners, they are classified as: Single-function type (where the refrigeration, heating and ventilation systems are installed separately and operated independently without interfering with each other, mostly used in large buses and cargo trucks) and integrated cooling and heating type (where the refrigeration, heating and ventilation share the same blower and air duct and are controlled on the same control board, and can be divided into a combined type where the cooling and heating air work separately and a mixed temperature control type where the cooling and heating air can work simultaneously during operation. Sedans mostly use hybrid temperature-controlled models.
According to the control mode, it can be divided into manual type (controlling temperature, wind speed and wind direction by flipping the function keys on the control panel) and electric control pneumatic regulation (using a vacuum control mechanism, when the air conditioning function keys are selected, the temperature and air volume can be automatically controlled within the preset temperature range).
According to the control source for regulation, it can be classified into: fully automatic regulation (utilizing a computational comparison circuit to control the operation of the regulation mechanism through sensor signals and pre-adjusted signals, automatically regulating temperature and air volume) and fully automatic regulation controlled by a microcomputer (with a microcomputer as the control center, achieving all-round and multi-functional optimal control and regulation of the air environment inside the vehicle).
Before checking the temperatures of the high and low pressure pipes, the A/C switch should be turned on. The air conditioner should be set to the highest cooling mode, the position with the largest air volume and direct blowing, and the air circulation should be internal. The temperature at the air outlet is considered normal to be around 5℃ based on experience.
Lift the hood to confirm that the electronic fan is running simultaneously and the compressor is also running. If it does not operate, loosen the protective cover of the high-pressure pipe, and use a sharp tool to gently press the high-pressure exhaust pin to see if there is a strong refrigerant overflow. If there is, it indicates that the fault of the air conditioner lies in the circuit system. If there is no strong overflow of refrigerant, please carefully check whether there are oil stains at each joint of the air conditioning pipe. If there are, it indicates that there is a leakage point in the air conditioning system. This kind of repair may take a lot of time, and it is also very likely that after repairing one place, there will be leaks at other places. This is inevitable.
Touch the high-pressure pipe and the low-pressure pipe with your hand and carefully feel their temperatures. When the refrigeration system is working properly, the normal temperature of the high-pressure pipe is approximately between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius, which means it can be firmly held by hand for about 30 seconds. If the time is longer, it cannot be held. The temperature of the low-pressure pipe is approximately between 5 and 6 degrees Celsius, which means it feels cold when touched by hand.
