What is the front brake caliper of a car with brake pads

The brake caliper is an indispensable chassis braking part of the braking system. Its main function is to push the brake pads, and the brake pads rub against the brake drum. Reduce the vehicle speed and bring it to a stop. After the brake is applied, the master cylinder generates thrust to press the hydraulic oil to the slave cylinder. The piston inside the slave cylinder is subjected to the hydraulic pressure and starts to move, pushing the brake pads.
The hydraulic brake is composed of the master cylinder and the brake fluid reservoir. One end of them is connected to the brake pedal and the other end to the brake oil pipe. The master cylinder of the brake holds brake fluid and has an oil outlet and an oil inlet.
The air brake is composed of an air compressor (commonly known as an air pump), at least two air tanks, one master brake pump, one quick-release valve on the front wheel, and one relay valve on the rear wheel. It consists of four brake calipers, four adjusters, four cams, eight brake shoes and four brake hubs.
Hydraulic brake
The oil brake is composed of the brake master cylinder (hydraulic brake pump) and the brake fluid tank.
Heavy trucks use air brakes, while ordinary small cars use oil brakes. Therefore, both the master brake pump and the brake calipers of a car are hydraulic brake pumps. The brake calipers (hydraulic brake pumps) are indispensable parts of the braking system. When braking, when you step on the brake pad, the master cylinder of the brake delivers brake fluid through pipes to each brake caliper. The brake caliper has a connecting rod that controls the brake shoes or brake pads. When braking, the brake fluid in the brake tubing pushes the connecting rod on the brake caliper, causing the brake shoe to grip the flange on the wheel to stop the wheel. The technical requirements for the brake caliper of a car are very high because it directly affects people's lives.
When the brake is applied, the fuel outlet opens and the fuel inlet closes. Under the pressure of the piston in the pump body, the brake oil pipe is squeezed out of the oil pipe and flows to each brake slave pump to perform the braking function. When releasing the brake pad. The oil outlet in the master cylinder will close and the oil inlet will open, allowing the brake fluid to flow back from each brake slave cylinder to the master cylinder and return to its original state.
Truck
Driven by the air pump through the engine, the air is compressed into high-pressure gas and stored in the air tank. One of the air receivers can be connected to the master cylinder of the brake through pipelines. The master brake cylinder is divided into two air chambers, the upper and the lower. The upper air chamber controls the rear wheels, and the lower air chamber controls the front wheels. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the upper air tank opens first. The high-pressure gas in the air tank is transmitted to the relay valve, pushing out the control piston of the relay valve. At this time, the gas in the other air tank can be connected to the two rear brake calipers through the relay valve. The push rod of the brake caliper is pushed forward. By adjusting the back, the CAM is rotated at an Angle. The CAM is eccentric. While rotating, it spreads the brake shoes and generates friction with the brake drum to achieve the braking effect.
When the upper chamber of the brake master cylinder is opened, the lower chamber is also opened simultaneously. High-pressure gas enters the quick-release valve and is then distributed to the brake calipers of the two front wheels. The same goes for the rear wheels.
When the driver releases the brake pedal, the upper and lower air chambers close, and the pistons of the quick-entry valve on the front wheel and the relay valve on the rear wheel return to their original positions under the action of the spring. The front and rear brake calipers are connected to the atmosphere in the air chamber. The push rod returns to its position and the braking is completed.
Generally, the rear wheels brake first and the front wheels later. This is beneficial for the driver to control the direction.
